It isn’t that I’m being dishonest by these answers, I truly can and would want to help you out its just that every time I say yes to a project, the realisation of my goals for Pr gets further and further away.
Part of it is a fear of missing out of an opportunity, a fear of taking my own dreams and vision seriously and a fear of choosing to walk the unexplored, unseen path over a tangible seen (usually easier) project that has a clearly seen end in sight. So my new word is no. Just a little word that for me holds a lot of creative freedom.

So with some fresh new goals defined, here is a renewed commitment to inspiring you to sew, offering support through techniques and alternations you can do yourself and of course offering a selection of fashion patterns. I hope that you stay with me as the vision for Pr unfolds and we see just what this little blog and pattern store can be.

I'm looking foward to seeing more of PR on your blog, I still have your scallop shorts to make, but am struggling to find the time and motivation at the machine for other reasons :)
ReplyDeleteOhh thanks for that! Can't wait to get more exciting things up here! Maybe over the holiday break you could give yourself some sewing time, once the christmas silly season is over? xxx
ReplyDeleteYay! I only just found this blog and the pattern line, and I really like it! Looking forward to more posts :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Nina! So glad you like what we do!
DeleteReading this post reminded me of this article in Nature (the science journal) about how taking on smaller tasks is actually a way of procrastinating from bigger, more important task i.e. procrastinators aren't lazy they're just really busy doing 'other' things. This is something I did a lot of during my PhD XD. The original article is here http://www.nature.com/naturejobs/science/articles/10.1038/nj7330-435a they have other helpful links there as well.
ReplyDeleteHello, Just realised that I never got back to you! Thanks for your comment! Yes I definitely agree with that, and can very much relate to being busy with other small tasks, maybe because there are fears and insecurities attached to the big ones! Thanks for the link, will enjoy a read.
